How its done

There aremany ways that teeth can be lightened. the most effective techniques include:
  • The Tray method
  • Internal tooth bleaching

The tray and power techniques usually whiten all of the teeth, and internal bleaching whitens individual teeth stained as a result of root treatments.

The tray method that takes approximately two weeks and is carried out at home by the patient for two hours per day, and the power method that takes 90 minutes and is carried out at the practice.

Since recent changes in the law we are no longer able to use powerful bleaching agents for power bleaching in the UK and we have found that some of our patients have been disappointed with the results. For this reason, we no longer provide power bleaching in the surgery. The tray method, however, still produces excellent results.

Internal bleaching involves several appointments when a bleaching agent is placed within the tooth that has been stained as the result of root treatments.
